Should you really be wearing that? Alexandra Burke goes all out for All Night Long tour... but ends up looking a bit OTT

It's her first UK tour, so it's no wonder that Alexandra Burke wants to pull out all the stops.

But in her attempt to go all out as she kicked off her All Night Long tour in Belfast last night, the former X Factor winner just ended up looking a bit over-the-top as she took to the stage in a bejewelled, cutaway leotard.

However, with her huge, backcombed hair, silver boots and lashings of make-up, Alexandra's Melissa Odabash outfit would perhaps have been more suited to the venues of Las Vegas.

The leotard, which came complete with long flowing sleeves and a diamante-encrusted bodice, also featured cutaway panels and was cut incredibly high on the bottom which proved to be a less than flattering image for the 22-year-old star.

Alexandra later changed into a white and silver leotard with fringing detailing, also by Odabash, who designs the costumes for the tour.

But, despite the somewhat extravagant outfits, Alexandra's fans seemed delighted with her concert - which included renditions of hit tracks including Bad Boys, Broken Heels, Start Without You and the most recent single The Silence.

Alexandra recently revealed she has taken inspiration from musical greats for the tour.

She explained: 'I've watched This Is It by Michael Jackson, I've watched Beyonce's new one, her old one. I'm soaking it all in.'

The All Night Long tour is the latest in a series of successful ventures for Alexandra, who was crowned the winner of The X Factor in 2008.

Since then, she has had a hit album and is currently working on a second solo record, which is expected to be released later this year.

Talking about the as-yet-untitled album, Alexandra said: 'It’s got to be sexy. So I’m going to get a lot fiercer and sexier.

'We’re just getting down and dirty with the next album.

'I’m going to take a lot more risks and it’s going to be insane.'

Alexandra also hinted that she will be collaborating with someone 'huge' on the record.

She added: 'I can’t say too much because my management will kill me if I let loose.

'But I have a special duet planned. I have the ideas, the collaborations in my mind - it’s all locked up in my head.'

As well as her musical ventures, hard-working Alexandra was recently named the face of Sure Women deodorant.

And she said recently that she is determined to make herself into a 'brand' during her time in the industry.

She said: 'I want to oversee my business, my brand. If I want to be here for the next 50 years I have to make sure this is a good little business.

'I want to make myself a brand, and make sure when I go out there what you're seeing is a brand, someone who cares about their music and creativity.'

Alexandra's All Night Long tour continues tomorrow night in Glasgow, Scotland.
